Politicians Testimonials

Councillors
Chloe Masefield, Liberal Democrats Councillor for Crickhowell with Cwmdu and Tretower
As a new councillor, the Digital Dialogue project gave me an opportunity to engage with school students which doesn’t often come up. I found the experience incredibly positive, with good information and guidance from the Digital Dialogue team. It was well organised and I enjoyed speaking to the students and hearing more about their views. The questions I was asked are some of the most challenging I have ever been asked but it was great to hear that the children were so interested and engaged in the issues.
Ed Stubbs, Labour Councillor for Splott
I really enjoyed the opportunity to speak to young people at my local school and the professional way it was set up certainly aided that. This is such a great initiative and has huge benefits for learners and elected members.
Mike Ash-Edwards, Labour Councillor for Heath
My engagement in this programme was an extremely rewarding experience and it was a pleasure to be involved in it. The students I worked with were highly motivated and had worked hard prior to the event I attended, and it seemed to be a very worthwhile learning experience for them. The support from the DDW was excellent and would certainly be keen to be involved further in this excellent programme.
Mike J Peers, Independent Councillor for Flintshire
The experience of working with digital dialogue was quite interesting and rewarding.
As a locally elected Councillor in my community it was refreshing to be asked to come and meet with young pupils who had an interest in what I did as a Councillor, and also they wanted to question me on my thoughts on local issues that they were concerned about, these being dog fouling, litter, and the 20 mph speed limits.
I was impressed that the pupils had done their homework and research on me in advance of our meeting knowing what positions I hold on Flintshire County Council and therefore were able to construct their questions accordingly.
It was refreshing to engage with the young people in an informal setting and an enjoyable session communicating on local issues of concern to both the pupils and myself.
I would suggest politicians would benefit from engaging with young people under the guidance of digital dialogue.
Members of Senedd
Alun Davies, Labour and Co-operative Senedd Member for Blaenau Gwent
I write today in support of the Politics Project Digital Dialogue: Wales programme as I understand that its current funding is due to end in March 2025. I have had the pleasure of participating in the programme and found the project to be extremely useful and a great way to introduce and involve local young people in political discussion and how democracy affects us all. The Politics Project was able to facilitate contact with local schools and arrange informative and enjoyable sessions, taking care of all the logistical aspects of such a programme.
The sessions themselves were extremely well organised, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have no hesitation in taking part in the programme in the future or in recommending participation to my colleagues and other local schools. I do hope the pupils learnt something from me, I certainly gained an invaluable insight into the issues that matter most to young people across the borough.
Carolyn Thomas, Labour Senedd Member for North Wales
I have been pleased to take part in connecting with schools through The Politics project. It is a great way for young people to learn about politics and decision making, preparing them for when they will be able to vote at 16 years of age. After doing research, I find they are prepared to put me on the spot with some good questions! I also find it an excellent opportunity to ask their views on a topical subject.
Cefin Campbell, Plaid Cymru Senedd Member for Mid and West Wales
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, particularly the opportunity to engage with multiple schools. The logistical support and facilitation were excellent, and I was more than happy with the planning and organisation of the sessions. A special mention to Mia, who was brilliant throughout—her coordination and support made a real difference.
Being part of this programme gave me valuable firsthand insight into the issues that matter most to young people. Too often, young people are overlooked in the political sphere, and these sessions provided a crucial platform for their voices to be heard.
Not only do they help politicians understand the challenges young people face, but they also play a key role in reducing political apathy. By putting a face to politics, these discussions help young people see how political decisions affect them—both as individuals and as a generation. It’s a fantastic way to stay connected with the younger population and even inspire some to engage in politics themselves.
The session itself was engaging and thought-provoking. The questions were diverse, with some being particularly challenging and insightful. It was refreshing to hear perspectives that I may not have encountered before, and it reinforced the importance of creating spaces where young people can openly discuss the issues that impact their lives.
Darren Millar, Leader of Welsh Conservatives and Senedd Member for Clwyd West
I am writing to offer my strong support of the Digital Dialogue Wales programme and its invaluable work in engaging young people in democratic education.
As someone who has had the pleasure of being involved in the programme, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact it has had on young people's understanding of democracy and the democratic process. It has been incredibly rewarding to engage in meaningful conversations with students, allowing them to share their perspectives and concerns.
I firmly believe that the Digital Dialogue Wales programme has made an important contribution to fostering a well-informed and engaged future generation. I am confident that the programme’s ability to engage young people in the democratic process will have lasting benefits for both individuals and society as a whole.
I would be grateful if you could note my wholehearted support for the continued development of the Digital Dialogue Wales programme and hope it receives the funding necessary to keep growing and inspiring young people across Wales.
Delyth Jewell, Plaid Cymru Senedd Member for South Wales East
Taking part in digital dialogue sessions with schools across my region has been energising, challenging and lots of fun. I’ve found it inspiring to speak to so many young people who are passionate about politics, who are inquisitive and thoughtful with their questions, and who want to share their own opinions about what needs to change in our society.
The Digital Dialogue team have made every one of the sessions I’ve taken part in easy to do – they’ve sent me briefings beforehand and have made the technology run smoothly. I’ve also really valued the sessions they’ve invited me to be a part of, because it’s allowed me to build connections with children and young people and to have an insight into how they see the world. I’ve enjoyed every one of the sessions, and every one has been different. Where young people have been a bit shy to ask questions, the facilitator has always helped by asking them open questions to build their confidence. It’s such a great way of engaging with some of the most important people in our society – young people. I really hope Digital Dialogue can continue to do this important work.
Eluned Morgan, Leader of Welsh Labour and Senedd Member for Mid and West Wales
I really enjoyed speaking to the students, who were from all parts of Wales, and asked some really interesting questions on the hot topics of the day, ranging from small businesses, to free prescriptions, to being a woman in politics.
I’m proud that you can vote from age 16 in our Senedd elections, and it’s even more important we promote the importance of democracy to young people and help them become informed, active citizens.
I’m pleased that the Welsh Government has been providing £300,000 to support democratic engagement through initiatives like the Politics Project, to help more people get involved in the decisions which affect our daily lives.
Hefin David, Labour Senedd Member for Caerphilly
Thank you for your help in setting up our most recent session at Bedwas High School this week. It was a huge success and the school will be coming to visit us at a later date.
I would like to take this opportunity to speak in support of the Digital Dialogue: Wales Programme.
I have worked with the team since 2023 and have had the pleasure of being linked up with numerous schools within my constituency.
Although I do have contacts in local school, they usually invite me along if they have events going on or celebrations taking place. The digital dialogue teams have allowed me to engage with local learners in a way that I may not have had the opportunity to do otherwise.
The sessions have always been well set up, well attended and the learners have been extremely engaged and interested in learning more about my role as their Senedd Member and the work our parliament does for Wales.
The facilitation of the sessions has run smoothly for the most part, but even in cases where there have been technical issues, the team have rectified them quickly and easily without much effect on the sessions.
Since meeting with schools in this way, I have had the opportunity to invite them to the Senedd for tours and to watch First Ministers Questions. Seeing governance in action like this concretes all the information shared in the dialogue sessions, so to have that opportunity is fantastic.
I’ve very much enjoyed working with the Politics Project and hope to continue working together into the future and reaching more young people through our partnership.
Heledd Fychan, Plaid Cymru Senedd Member for South Wales Central
Empowering children and young people to be politically engaged is crucial for our democracy, and Digital Dialogue: Wales has played a crucial role in achieving this.
Every conversation I’ve been involved with through this programme has been truly insightful and meaningful – every child has taken part, and their questions and comments have shown that they were completely engaged.
With young people in Wales able to vote at 16 and 17 years old, and the fact that we have a Welsh Youth Parliament, this programme plays a crucial role in engaging young people in our democratic processes.
Schools often struggle on how to deliver political education too, and this programme supports schools with this important element of the curriculum.
James Evans, Conservative Senedd Member for Brecon and Radnorshire
My experience working with Digital Dialogue Wales has been incredibly positive. The programme is well-organised, and the logistical support and facilitation have been excellent, making it easy to participate and fully engage with students. The structure of the sessions ensures that discussions are productive and focused, allowing for an open exchange of ideas between young people and decision-makers.
Taking part in this programme has strengthened my connection with young people and schools in my constituency. It has provided a valuable opportunity to hear directly from students about the issues that matter most to them, helping to inform my work as a Member of the Senedd. The sessions have allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of their concerns and priorities, reinforcing the importance of involving young people in political conversations from an early age.
Each session I have attended has been engaging and thought provoking. The questions posed by the students have been insightful and often challenge me to consider new perspectives. They are not only well-prepared but also eager to engage in discussions about democracy, policy, and the future of Wales. A particular highlight for me has been seeing young people’s enthusiasm for politics and their genuine interest in how decisions are made and how they can influence them.
As the programme’s current funding is due to end in March 2025, I strongly support efforts to secure further financial backing to allow this important work to continue. I truly hope that funding is secured to continue this programme, as it plays a vital role in strengthening political awareness and civic engagement among young people.
Jane Dodds, Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats and Senedd Member for Mid and West Wales
I have been lucky enough to take part in Digital Dialogue on a number of occasions. It has allowed me to engage with schools in my region of mid and west Wales in Welsh and English and to hear the views of young people on key issues such as education, health, the environment, independence etc.. We sometimes have votes on issues in the sessions which engage all the children in the class. I enjoy my Digital Dialogue sessions and ensure they are prioritised as they are so enjoyable.
Digital Dialogue organises the sessions well, and provides invaluable briefings for me. In doing the sessions online, this is a much more effective way of engaging with children to ensure they don’t have too much time out of their curriculum. As Wales moves to votes at 16, it is even more important that Digital dialogue is able to continue and expand these sessions.
Jane Hutt, Labour MS for the Vale of Glamorgan
I am writing to show my full support for Digital Dialogue who I have been honoured to work with numerous times in schools across the Vale of Glamorgan. Digital Dialogue is a great way of bringing together young people and politicians in an inclusive way, to engage in political discourse and encourage critical thinking. All of the sessions I have been involved with have been so positive and engaging, and they have been a great way to involve young people in politics from a young age. I have been pleased to write to members of the Welsh Government with questions related to their portfolios to give feedback to individuals from the sessions, which have taken the sessions to the next level. I would like to endorse the programme, and would love for as many pupils as possible across Wales to be able to engage in face to face manner with the politicians who represent them and their families.
Joel James, Conservative Senedd Member for South Wales Central
Since becoming a Member of the Senedd in 2021, I have had the pleasure of participating in several Digital Dialogue Wales sessions with both primary and secondary schools across my region of South Wales Central.
These sessions have been engaging and thought-provoking, allowing me to share how I entered politics, became a Senedd Member, and the work I have been doing for my region since my election.
With the primary school pupils, I enjoyed explaining what a Member of the Welsh Parliament does, the powers of the Welsh Government, and the importance of our voices in a democracy.
For the A-Level politics students, I was able to discuss the work the Welsh Conservatives have been doing in Wales, my contributions to the region, and the issues that matter most to me.
The Digital Dialogue sessions also provided an excellent opportunity for follow-up. I offered all the A-Level pupils work experience in both my constituency and Senedd offices, and nearly all of them took advantage of this opportunity. These experiences proved invaluable, as I understand how difficult it can be to find connections and organise work experience while still in school. Without the Digital Dialogue sessions, these opportunities might not have materialised.
The sessions were exceptionally well organised, with comprehensive support from the Digital Dialogue Wales team at every stage. The detailed briefings provided beforehand allowed me to enter each session with confidence, enabling me to focus on understanding the young people's perspectives on key issues.
Democratic education is vital for ensuring engagement in the democratic process and for giving young people in Wales a voice on matters that impact their daily lives and futures. I wish the
Digital Dialogue Wales team every success in their future endeavours.
Joyce Watson, Labour Senedd Member for Mid and West Wales
I’ve taken part in several Digital Dialogue events, and I particularly enjoyed meeting staff and pupils at Milford Haven School and Bigyn Primary School. I found it useful to engage with them, and to hear the concerns and perspectives of such young people. The pupils were well informed, asking excellent questions, and the sessions were well structured. Equally, I think the events provide an invaluable opportunity for students to engage in democratic education. Meeting politicians face to face in a supportive environment puts a human face to what could appear to be quite abstract concepts. Digital Dialogues creates effective and meaningful dialogues between politicians and young people. This provides an important service, particularly at a time when so many influences - some malign influences - compete to grab the attention of the next generation.
Lee Waters, Labour and Co-operative Senedd Member for Llanelli
I’ve taken part in a really good project to bring politics into classrooms across Llanelli. It is called Digital Dialogue and it does just what it ‘says on the tin’ . It gives school children the opportunity to talk to politicians and to ask us questions about absolutely anything they want. And they don’t have to leave their classrooms because it’s all done online. This is led by The Politics Project and funded by the Welsh government. It is helping schools deliver the ‘ethical, informed citizens’ purpose of the new Curriculum for Wales. Pupils each got to ask me, as a politician, a direct question. There was no third party for them to have to go through, it was a direct line to me as one of their local politicians. Some questions were very political, others were more general, like who is my favourite artist!
I pledged to go back to cover the questions we weren't able to get to on the day. I have a date booked in to go. I hope that honouring this pledge will foster a trust in politics and politicians. With young people gaining an understanding of how the political system works in Wales and promoting their participation in it, can only be for the better, whether they do this as future voters or politicians.
Mark Drakeford, Labour Senedd Member for Cardiff West
Thank you also for the help you have offered in recent years in organising opportunities for contact with young people and to discuss with them the issues that concern them.
I’ve always found the organisation of the events to be helpful and effective and, of course, it is always very useful to hear directly from young people. An opportunity to consider with them the connection
between their key issues and the work of devolved authorities is always practically useful, but also provides new insights into the way in which young people growing up in Wales see their futures and the future of our country.
In an era in which misinformation is such an anxiety, especially where young people are concerned, the ability to interact directly in this way has been invaluable.
Mark Isherwood, Conservative Senedd Member for North Wales
It has been a pleasure to take part in Digital Dialogue: Wales sessions delivered by The Politics Project, answering well prepared questions from informed and engaged school pupils.
This impressive project effectively links learners with their elected representatives, giving them the unique opportunity to question their elected representatives on issues they care about and greatly increasing their likelihood of engaging in the political process and holding their elected representatives to account as they grow older.
Mike Hedges, Labour Senedd Member for Swansea East
I am aware of the good work done by the Digital Dialogue Wales programme. I hope this scheme can secure the funding it needs to carry on this important work.
Natasha Asghar, Conservative Senedd Member for South Wales East

Peredur Owen Griffiths, Plaid Cymru Senedd Member for South Wales East
It is vital that we converse with young people so that we know what makes them tick and what they want to see out of devolution in Wales.
There is much room for improvement when it comes to electoral turnout and participation in politics and this is particularly the case among young people. Projects like Digital Dialogue are crucial components in addressing these issues and long may they continue.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my sessions with Digital Dialogue and have learnt much from the students that have taken part. The sessions are always challenging and interesting – I look forward to participating in many more to come.
Rhun ap Iorwerth, Leader of Plaid Cymru and Senedd Member for Ynys Môn
It was a pleasure to take part in the Politics Project’s Digital Dialogue: Wales programme and engage with so many bright young people from across Wales on the issues that matter to them.
Young people must have the opportunity not just to speak with politicians, but to engage meaningfully with the political process itself. The more we empower them to engage constructively with decision-makers early on, the stronger our democracy becomes.
I’m grateful for the invitation and the insightful questions from students—I look forward to taking part again in the future.
Sam Rowlands, Conservative Senedd Member for North Wales
I took part in the Digital Dialogue programme recently and was delighted to visit my old school and to have the opportunity to meet with students there. I was honoured to be able to share some information about my role within the Welsh Parliament with the group, who then turned the tables and asked me some astute and interesting questions. Students asked questions on the specific workings of the Welsh Government, about my own progression into my current role, and insightfully, about personal and professional qualities which have shaped my career. Some of these questions have stayed with me, and I do hope that some of my answers may have stayed with them.
The support received from the Digital Dialogue team was fantastic, in fact they have already helped me to arrange another Digital Dialogue session for next month which I am looking forward to.
Sioned Williams, Plaid Cymru Senedd Member for South Wales West

Tom Giffard, Conservative Senedd Member for South Wales West
I want to thank the Politics Project for the work I've done with them over the past year. It's really important to be able to meet with young people and engage. Find out what the important issues are to them and the Politics Project provides a vehicle to be able to do just that.
Vikki Howells, Labour Senedd Member for Cynon Valley
I’ve welcomed the opportunity to engage with schools in my constituency in association with the Digital Dialogue: Wales programme. It is important that young people are able to speak to their representatives about their priorities, so the facilitation the project offers is invaluable. Digital Dialogue: Wales creates a safe environment where participants are encouraged to find their voice and ask questions.
I’d encourage all schools and relevant organisations to take part if they are able to help ensure we give our young people the skills and experiences they need to be active citizens.
Members of Parliament
Alex Barros-Curtis, Labour Member of Parliament for Cardiff West
I wanted to get involved to support the project and because of the great work that you do…The young people of our society are the future and the more we can engage them at an earlier age, give them a voice, listen to their voice so we can shape our policies then the better we are for it (Quote as Labour Candidate, Cardiff West Hustings).
Ann Davies, Plaid Cymru Member of Parliament for Caerfyrddin
I have enjoyed being able to participate in this project. Giving young people the insight of how politics works on a local and National level is invaluable. We certainly need more opportunities for young people to become engaged, and making ourselves available to scrutiny is essential.
Thank you for giving Carmarthenshire’s young people a voice during the General Election and again during the Autumn when Bro Myrddin pupils quizzed me on what it was like becoming an MP and what my priorities are.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity, and for raising the awareness of politics in the young people of Sir Gar.
Ben Lake, Plaid Cymru Member of Parliament for Ceredigion Preseli
Over the last year or so, I have worked with the Politics Project to deliver sessions to children of all ages in schools across the constituency. This has been an extremely positive and rewarding experience, allowing the children/young people to be introduced to and educated in politics both on a local and national level.
During the sessions, I provided a brief presentation on my work as an MP, but the true highlight was the opportunity for the students to ask questions about issues that mattered to them. Their curiosity, engagement, and fresh perspectives were truly inspiring.
It was a refreshing reminder of the importance of engaging with young people to hear their voices and address their concerns, particularly as they are the ones who are the least likely to contact myself and my office of their own accord.
I conducted both in-person and virtual sessions. Despite my preference of in-person visits, the virtual calls provided me with the opportunity - amid the busy schedule of parliamentary work - to reach more students than I would usually be able to, particularly considering the recent expansion of the constituency’s boundaries.
I know that staff members in my constituency office greatly appreciated the organisational support provided by the Politics Project’s team, as they handled all the arrangements seamlessly. This spared time for my staff and ensured that the sessions ran smoothly.
At a time when political engagement and trust in the democratic system are declining, initiatives like this are essential. By introducing young people to politics in this way, we are demonstrating that it can be accessible to all. Education is a crucial step toward ensuring the sustainability of our democratic values and encouraging active participation from all parts of society. The Politics Project’s continuation has my full support.
Jo Stevens, Labour Member of Parliament for Cardiff East
Visiting local schools is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. Through Digital Dialogue Wales, I had the opportunity to meet virtually with pupils from St John Lloyd R.C. Primary School in my constituency.
Digital Dialogue Wales organised the session and hosted the event at a time that was convenient for myself, teachers, and pupils. This meeting would have been challenging to arrange in person due to my Parliamentary duties.
The students received a lesson on the role of Parliament, and their engagement during my question and answer session clearly showed the knowledge they gained. I was especially pleased by the number of girls who actively participated and showed enthusiasm during the session.
I look forward to visiting the school in person in the future to strengthen the connections we’ve made online and to see how their understanding has grown since we last met. I hope these sessions will kickstart an interest in politics that lasts a lifetime.
Nia Griffith, Labour Member of Parliament for Llanelli
I have been very impressed by the work done by the politics project, in facilitating visits to schools. Often schools are not sure how to get in touch, or even whether they should ask, and staff are busy. On each occasion, I have found the arrangements and communication very effective, and it is good to see that the project follows up politicians to get back to pupils with answers they promised! As well as enabling pupils to meet and quiz politicians first -hand, it is also useful and very interesting for us to hear from pupils about what the issues are that are concerning them.
I have certainly done visits that would not have happened without this project’s inspiration and organisational support.
Nick Thomas-Symonds, Labour Member of Parliament for Torfaen
I am writing in my capacity as Member of Parliament for Torfaen in support of the Digital Dialogue: Wales programme. It has always been a priority for me to ensure young people’s voices are heard, and the Digital Dialogue programme has been invaluable in hearing their concerns and picking up issues on their behalf.
I have engaged with the team at the Politics Project to speak with primary and secondary schools across the constituency for a number of years, and the support they have provided in facilitating the meetings has always been a huge help to my work representing my constituents.
I have always found the sessions engaging and insightful, and I commend the work the team at the Politics Project do.
Torsten Bell, Labour Member of Parliament for Swansea West
I am pleased to contribute a statement of support for Digital Dialogue: Wales delivered by the Politics Project.
In November, I took part in a session with learners at Bishop Gore School in my constituency, facilitated by the programme. As a new Member of Parliament, I welcomed the opportunity to build on my relationships with the community around the school and get a sense of the views and concerns of the young people first hand.
The session itself was extremely engaging. The learners asked insightful and thought-provoking questions, which led me to new reflections on how stepping into front line politics is changing my understanding of the problems facing the country.
It was smoothly facilitated by the Digital Dialogue: Wales delivery team, who were extremely professional throughout their engagement with my office. Feedback from my staff praised their polite and responsive conduct, as well as their logistical support throughout the session.
Candidates
Alistair Cameron, Liberal Democrats General Election Candidate for Mid and South Pembrokeshire
I found the General Election Hustings you organised last June at Pembrokeshire College a very interesting and informative session which was also well organised. It is so important in a General Election campaign to be able to engage with young people and it was great to hear the questions from so many students at the college and pupils from nearby schools. As a parliamentary candidate it helped me to understand some of the issues affecting young people today.
I hope you can organise similar events in the future.
Becca Martin, Plaid Cymru General Election Candidate for Wrexham
I feel the politics project is an incredibly important asset to society. If we are to raise a generation of diverse representation at all political levels we must be educating our young people in politics and, as the curriculum is, to say the least, "lacking" the politics project provides an essential service.
My recent personal experience was very good, extremely well run and organised, age appropriate, inclusive and informative for both young people and candidates - it is important we listen to young people and what is important to them.
Stuart Marchant, Reform General Election Candidate for Mid and South Pembrokeshire
My experience working with Digital Dialogue Wales was nothing short of exceptional. The session / programme was meticulously organised, with exemplary logistical support and facilitation provided throughout. The coordination and communication were always clear and efficient, making participation smooth and very enjoyable.
The session that I attended had a profound impact on my relationships with the audience and school. Through my involvement, I have had the opportunity to build stronger connections with students and educators alike. The interactions facilitated by the programme offered invaluable insights into the perspectives of the younger generation on key issues. This has not only enriched my understanding but also helped bridge the gap between potential policymakers and the youth, fostering a more inclusive and informed dialogue.
The session I experienced was both insightful and thought-provoking. The questions posed by the young participants were unique and demonstrated a deep understanding and curiosity about the democratic process. It was refreshing to see such enthusiasm and engagement from the students, who brought forth ideas and viewpoints that were both diverse and well-considered. One particular highlight for me was witnessing the moments of realisation and empowerment among the students as they grasped the importance of their role in shaping the future through democratic participation.
The programme has also provided a platform for meaningful exchanges between elected officials and young people, allowing for candid discussions on various topics. This has been instrumental in fostering mutual understanding and respect, as well as encouraging young people to actively participate in the democratic process.
In summary, Digital Dialogue Wales has been an outstanding initiative that has made a significant and positive impact on young people, schools, and the broader community. I wholeheartedly support the continuation of this programme and am confident that it will continue to inspire and empower young people to engage in the democratic process.
Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful initiative. I look forward to continuing our collaboration and hope that this programme can secure the necessary funding to carry on its essential work.
Tim Morgan, Green Party General Election Candidate for Wrexham
The Politics Project hustings in 2024 was the most challenging event I attended in the run up to the General Election. And as a candidate, challenge is encouraged! The questions faced were far broader than in any other hustings or interview I faced, and I'm really grateful for the experience.
The importance of young people, and Future Generations, cannot be overstated. The electorate award their precious vote for many reasons, but it is the youngest in society who are always most affected by the outcome. Especially in Wales, where we have the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act, it is absolutely vital that we do all we can to include the youngest in the process and the debate. I applaud the Politics Project and hope they thrive into the future.
Peers
Lord Alastair Aberdare, Crossbench Hereditary Peer
I took part in a Digital Dialogue: Wales online session with a group of 16-17 year-old students at Cowbridge Comprehensive School on 3 February 2025. I also participate regularly in the House of Lords “Learn with the Lords” scheme, which arranges similar sessions with schools, both online and in-person, to increase awareness of the role, importance and effectiveness of the House of Lords.
I found the Digital Dialogue: Wales session well-organised and well run, with a comprehensive and helpful briefing package provided beforehand, and excellent support during the session itself. The students were well prepared with appropriate questions, and I felt that the session was beneficial both for me and for them.
