6.10 Reflecting on Practice

Thanks for working through these scenarios. These kinds of questions don’t always have one perfect answer – but they do invite us to reflect on the spaces we create for young people and how we hold political conversations in a way that’s open, respectful and empowering.

The goal isn’t to know everything or get it ‘right’ every time. It’s about being thoughtful, prepared, and confident in supporting young people to explore ideas for themselves. Whether it’s setting clear boundaries, responding to difficult opinions, or stepping back to centre young people’s voices – these everyday choices all shape how we build trust and curiosity around democracy.

As we move into the next part of the training, keep those instincts and reflections with you – they’re exactly what young people need.
