7.2 What does it mean to be non-partisan?

Being non-partisan means:

• Not promoting or endorsing any political party or candidate
• Not steering young people toward a particular political position
• Encouraging a range of views and questions
• Redirecting attention back to the young people’s thinking – not yours

It’s also about being self-aware – noticing when your own views might be shaping the space and stepping back when needed.
